JCF,

Thanks for pointing out the error of "chord" vs. "cord." And no, I'm not being sarcastic about it; I am thanking you. I write these Otalia posts on no sleep every week (Friday night-Saturday evenings) in a marathon writing session. Sometimes I do slip up. No one is perfect. But I did correct it. Thanks.

I'm glad you enjoyed the post and this week's analysis. Thanks for dropping by and commenting :)

chord cutting tactics

{Pictures piano wires cut}

{Hears dissonant noise!}

Honestly, I'm not usually this anal in commenting on blogs, but yours IS called "Write Tilt": that would be "cord cutting" (y'know, like umbilical cord?) ;-/

Um, other than that, excellent analysis. I especially like what you say about Olivia's potential to be a strong mentor-figure for Rafe (nevermind that sexist judge!). This is totally fan-ficcy, but here ya go anyway: I picture a sunny afternoon, almost exactly 4 years (give or take) to the day from now. Rafe is graduating from college. He's getting a big hug from his mom, of course (he couldn't avoid that if he tried!), but his biggest hug is for the person MOST responsible for making this happen: his other mother, Olivia.

I can dream, can't?

[Note: above scenario to play out only AFTER 3 years, 9 months plus of daily "coffee-making" ;-D]

Enjoy your site, WT: Go Otalia!

Belin,

LOL. Yes, I can imagine that many Otalia fans want them to make coffee together soon. Thank you for the compliments on this week's post.

I tried to cut Rafe some slack this week and get into this head. I didn't like his "Rafertude" either, but I'm trying to see where he's coming from and why he behaves this way. I'm glad I could bring some insight into Rafe as well.

I haven't heard the Crystal Chappell Big Purple Podcast yet; I still have a couple of more weeks to go before I feel like I will be in the safe zone. As I have said before, I can't do spoilers and write these Otalia posts. However, you're right in saying that Olivia could be that parental figure Rafe needs right now.

Agreed about Olivia's swoon-worthy line. That entire scene was very sweet and beautiful. I love how this story continues to unfold each week. The evolution of the Olivia and Natalia characters please me to no end. And I too love this show so much. I do not want it to end. Life with Guiding Light and Otalia is hard to imagine.

Denisebella,

I'm happy to hear you enjoyed this week's post! You are very welcome. I just try to deliver my best when writing about Otalia.

It pleases me to hear that my posts can provide you with some answers. Regarding the coffee comment by Natalia, I connected it to the hotel door scene the first time I watched. I was smiling because I was thinking to myself, "This is genius!" LOL.

I can say without a doubt that Olivia was falling in love with Natalia probably since October 2008. The signs were there that she was looking at Natalia in a different way. I think she was not always conscious of her growing romantic feelings for Natalia though. For me, a telling sign that Olivia looked at Natalia like "this woman is amazing and I think love her just for how she feels about Emma" was the Otalia Christmas episode (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spJ8D47bNak). There is a moment here that's just heart-stopping for me. As for Natalia, she is harder to read because she's introverted and doesn't give much away (as to what she thinks) like Olivia. After re-watching the entire Otalia scenes on the Otaliafan channel, it's still hard for me to pick out when Natalia knew she loved Olivia. I can say that when Olivia collapsed outside of Company in late 2008 is a sign that Natalia cared deeply for Olivia. I'm still conducting research to pick out where Natalia first started falling in love with Olivia. I have some ideas but don't want to say just yet until I watch more older episodes.
