PayPerPost: A Blogger’s Poison

As a blogger, the whole concept of PayPerPost (PPP) disgusts me. If you are unsure of what PPP is, it’s an Orlando, FL-based startup that connects advertisers with bloggers. It doesn’t sound so bad on the surface, but that is not the reality of PPP. In a nutshell, bloggers are paid to write about a product or service, “good or bad” although I’m sure the advertiser prefers the former since they’re paying for a post. To make matters worse, Ted Murphy and crew recently launched PayPerPost Direct, a service that blatantly screams “Pay me to write about you!” on a blog. If I was low enough to be a PPP blogger, I don’t think I’d advertise that fact with this service.
